Greetings! Back in my days at AOL, every Tuesday was special in that it meant a new release of The Onion was being published online. It helped pass the time as we sat on technical support calls with the brain dead of America. That site even inspired the much beloved site “The Tatooine Times”, which was maintained by a group of AOL co-workers. It was The Onion-meets-Star Wars and it was fantastic…then Episode 1 was released – enough said.
The Onion eventually evolved into daily postings of content and became almost too much to keep up with and I lost touch with The Onion until I started following them on Twitter. They still make me laugh but, as you might know, they don’t accept contributions from readers. So when I encounter something during the day that makes me think “that would be a great Onion headline”, I have no avenue to get that headline to the masses…till now!
“That’s Right!” is a site with a serious and humorous tone, all the columns posted come from a legit point of view on the world that we live in. As I’ve said before: it’s not just a blog, it’s something a little more – so why not have a satirical news section as well?
Today we’re starting the A-Train News (ATN). It’s a tribute to The Onion, much like The Tatooine Times was. The new staff that will make up the ATN section of the site will do their best to keep everything rolling, while the rest of the That’s Right! staff will continue to bring you their magic…whenever they get off their asses and write something! (just kidding staff, I love you all)
