Part of what’s great about life is the diversity of people we get to meet and interact with every day. We get to experience new people, languages, cultures and lifestyles just through our interactions at work, play and on-line. Through the use of Facebook and Twitter, we have an opportunity to interact with people from all over the world. It’s great. We are all different and enjoy different things. It makes us who we are. Sharing these things helps us grow as people and as a global community. Lately it seems that just learning about others and sharing isn’t enough. We seem to be living in a society of people who have become very self-centered. Everything is about what the individual. People call it the “me” generation. It’s all about what the individual wants for themselves. With everybody being connected through social media and with such a large audience available, some people think it’s their duty to push their opinions and beliefs on others instead of sharing and learning. It’s not enough to be happy doing your own thing anymore, people have to force their way of life on others.

I’m talking to you vegans! We get it, you don’t eat meat. You don’t use any animal products. Great, good for you. Here’s the thing; that’s your choice, not mine. Now stop pushing it on me every time I eat something. Enough of the Facebook posts and twitter campaigns letting us all know you are a vegan and that your lifestyle is the one everybody should be living. It’s not. You made the decision to be vegan for yourself. I chose not to have that lifestyle. I love bacon. I love steak. It doesn’t make me evil or torturous to animals. I’m not going to change because of your ranting. I respect your lifestyle choice, now you need to respect mine. You are as annoying as the pothead who insists in telling everybody that pot should be legal and we should all use hemp for clothing. Enough already, just do your thing and leave it at that. Quit annoying everybody and making people miserable for hanging out with you. Life is too short for you to be so pissed and dramatic. You’re tiring. Get over yourself and move on. C’mon people. You’re better than that.
